But whatever you want to do with it, you’ll need to put your screenshot on your computer first. Here are three easy ways you can do that.
1. Transfer Your PS4 Screenshots to Your PC via USB Flash Drive
Using this method, you don’t need an active internet connection to transfer PS4 screenshots to your PC, but it involves a few intermediary steps before you can lay your hands on your screen grabs.
Plug a USB drive into your PS4. Make sure you have enough free space on the flash drive. Preferably, it should be empty. Select Capture Gallery from the PS4 home screen. (If you can’t see it there, you’ll find it in your Library, under Applications. ) In the gallery app, select All to view screenshots from all your games, or choose the individual game whose screenshots you wish to move to PC. Navigate to the screenshot you want and press the Options button on the controller. A menu panel will slide in from the right. Select the Copy to USB Storage Device option. The list of screenshots will change appearance, allowing you to select multiple images. Choose the ones you want. (Place the selector box over them and press X on the controller. ) A checkmark is placed on the ones you select. Select the Copy option on the bottom right of your screen. You’ll get a screen telling you where your screenshots will be saved on the USB. Select OK. Remove the USB drive from the PS4 and plug it into your PC to access your screenshots.
2. Transfer Screenshots From PS4 to PC Using the PlayStation App on Your Phone
You must have the PlayStation App installed on your phone to use this method. This method involves the additional step of connecting your phone to your PC.
There are a few more things you can do on your PS4 with a phone–you can download games onto your console using your phone, and you can even play PS4 games remotely on your phone.
Select Capture Gallery from the PS4 home screen. In the app, select All or choose a specific game. Highlight the screenshot you want on your PC and press the Share button on the controller. The Share Screenshot screen will open, asking where you want to share the image. Choose Messages. Select the friend to whom to send the screenshots you want. (You can set up a secondary PlayStation ID just for things like this. ) Click the Send button to send the image. 3. Access Your PS4 Screenshots on PC via Twitter
This is the simplest method of saving your PS4 screenshots to your PC, but it involves potentially setting up an alternate Twitter account for just this sort of thing. And in case you were wondering, you can do something similar when sharing PS4 gameplay videos.
Select Capture Gallery from the PS4 home screen. In the gallery app, select the option for All or choose a specific game. Highlight the screenshot you want on your PC and press the Share button on the controller. You’ll be presented with the Share Screenshot screen. This time, choose Twitter. (Make sure you’ve linked your Twitter account to your PS4. ) You can create a secondary private Twitter account for just this purpose. Share the image as a tweet. Sign into this Twitter account on your PC and download the PS4 screenshots you tweeted.
